Honest pricing for real work
We're built for people who want to get things done without paywalls, forced upgrades, or artificial limits. ToolGrid.io started as a nights-and-weekends project funded from friends' savings, not a VC term sheet.
Core tools stay free and usable. Sustainability comes from transparency, not lock-ins. We charge only where something is genuinely expensive to run or ship.
A paid plan isn't "AI only." It unlocks higher inputs, heavier processing, bulk work, and AI features. All of that burns real infrastructure. Behind every tool is ongoing work: design, engineering, infrastructure, content, and long-term maintenance. We're building toward a million tools. Paid plans exist only where real costs exist. Subscriptions help fund that, not tricks or lock-ins.
ToolGrid.io is deliberately small, independent, and bootstrapped, with no growth team inventing reasons to upsell you mid‑task. That's why all core tools remain free, regardless of plan.
What actually costs money? Not a button. It's the combination of AI inference, large‑file and long‑running jobs, bulk and heavy processing, and the servers, bandwidth, and ops that make that safe at scale. Those bills are real every month.
What about the tools themselves? We don't cripple core tools to push upgrades. What you see is meant to be fully usable. Each one takes roughly the ongoing work of a software product: design, development, infrastructure, content, and long-term care. Our north star is on the order of a million tools. That ambition only works if we can keep the lights on without selling your data or turning the product into an ad maze.
So we made a simple promise: never lock tools, never cripple workflows, never force upgrades. Business is for when you need more headroom (AI, bigger inputs, heavier runs) and you want to help fund independent infrastructure and honest development.
Your main task is never held hostage by pricing. If you upgrade, it goes toward compute, infrastructure, and building the catalog, not investor slides or ad retargeting.
Tools stay free. You pay only when you need expensive headroom (AI, large inputs, heavy or bulk processing) that costs real infrastructure to deliver safely.
On the free plan we may show limited, non-intrusive ads so everyday use stays sustainable. They aren't there to interrupt workflows, hide results, or nag you mid-task.
No fake countdown timers. No surprise paywalls halfway through a task. No locking your work behind an upgrade screen. You decide when "free and fast" is enough, and when paying for power is worth it.

Our commitment
Use ToolGrid like a friend built it for you. Upgrade only if it truly feels worth it.
The free tier is the real product, the one we use ourselves every day. We'll never trap you behind forced upgrades or hidden restrictions; we want to earn trust through usefulness and clarity. If you upgrade, you're funding AI, higher limits, and heavy processing that cost real infrastructure, and you're helping a tiny team pursue an enormous catalog on the order of a million tools, without selling your data or turning the app into an ad funnel.
