TOOLGRID API GATEWAY
Everything you need to build. One API.
Connect your apps, SaaS products, workflows, and AI agents to supported capabilities through one unified execution layer—one key, one bill, pay as you go.
TOOLGRID API GATEWAY
Continuous request routing: apps → POST /v1/execute or /v1/jobs → live tools → one API credit bill.
Stop Integrating Everything. Start Building.
Every new capability can mean another package, API, authentication flow, billing system, and maintenance burden. ToolGrid gives developers one infrastructure layer to access a growing ecosystem of tools and capabilities.
One API. One key. One billing layer. Many capabilities.
Integration burden → unified infrastructure
Managing many providers and dependencies increases operational burden and attack surface. ToolGrid reduces that complexity through a unified execution interface—it does not claim to eliminate every security risk or make every underlying provider identical.
You build the product. ToolGrid powers the capabilities.
Stop rebuilding image, document, and agent execution stacks for every new idea. Ship your product surface—ToolGrid runs the registered capabilities behind one gateway.
Your products · one infrastructure
One integration. Multiple capabilities.
One API key per environment, consistent multipart requests, and a shared credit wallet. Each tool still has its own schema and limits—without a new vendor stack every time.

Billing
Pay as you go
Usage is metered in API credits. Successful executions settle from your wallet; eligible failures refund the hold. Cluster defaults apply unless a tool has an override. AI-backed calls use a separate fixed AI price when configured.
1 API credit = $0.0001 (server-configured).
Per successful call
Each tool inherits its cluster rate (or an override). You only settle what completes.
One API credit wallet
Separate from AI credits. Load once, spend across enabled gateway tools.
Top up anytime
Buy credit packages from the dashboard. Balance never expires.
API Gateway cluster rates
Price per successful non-AI operation. New tools inherit their collection's default. Live tool prices may differ when an override applies—see docs pricing or the sandbox catalog.

Provider AI features (Gemini / OpenAI)
When a tool calls Gemini, OpenAI, or a similar provider (useAI=true), we charge the same rate as Business VIP standard AI (100 display credits / call): $0.20 (1,999 API credits). Local/OSS processing uses cluster rates only — no provider AI fee.
Via API Gateway → API credit wallet (developer dashboard). Via tool UI → VIP credits (main dashboard). Wallets never mix.
A TOOLGRID API GATEWAY subscription unlocks /v1 and includes a monthly credit grant; additional usage is pay as you go via top-ups. Billing details · Pricing · Credits dashboard

Request lifecycle
Testing console
The friendliest way to try the gateway—live.
Skip the first curl script. Open the console, pick an enabled tool, attach a real file or fields, and send a Single or Batch request against the same /v1 paths your app will use. See the structured JSON, request_id, and billing signal come back in the browser—so you learn the contract with real data before you wire production.
Real tools, real payloads
Exercise registered capabilities with your own files and parameters—not mock stubs.
Single & Batch
Try sync execute or async jobs where supported, with the same auth and headers.
Readable feedback
Inspect success, errors, and request shape instantly—copy keys and iterate fast.
Sign-in required. Sandbox locks AI paths; non-AI gateway tools are available for live checks against the TOOLGRID API GATEWAY.
TOOLGRID live console
Built for developers
One unified API
Gateway routes to registered executors—not a separate stack per tool.
Consistent patterns
Bearer key, Idempotency-Key, multipart in; JSON + billing out.
Pay-as-you-go billing
Metered API credits per successful call, one wallet, auditable ledger.
Clear results
Stable request IDs, error codes, and structured tool output.
Live testing console
Friendliest path to try Single and Batch on /tg-sandbox with real data.
Built to expand
New tools join the same auth, jobs, and credit model when enabled.
Your next product starts with an API call.

FAQ
Practical answers for the live TOOLGRID API GATEWAY
The TOOLGRID API GATEWAY is ToolGrid’s HTTP execution layer for registered tools. Authenticate with one developer API key, call POST /v1/execute for a single file (or POST /v1/jobs for async batch), and pay as you go from a prepaid API credit wallet that is separate from AI credits.
Yes. Usage is metered in API credits: successful executions settle credits from your wallet; eligible failures refund the reservation. An active TOOLGRID API GATEWAY subscription unlocks /v1 and grants monthly credits; buy top-up packages anytime for additional pay-as-you-go usage. Credits never expire.
Yes. The TOOLGRID API GATEWAY is plain HTTPS (multipart POST). Integrate it from Python, Go, PHP, Java, C#, Ruby, Node.js, curl, or any stack that can send HTTP requests. It is not limited to a Node.js or React framework.
POST /v1/execute (and POST /v1/jobs) accept a multipart tool field that selects the registered tool. Each tool keeps its own input validation, output schema, pricing, and limits. Authentication, idempotency, and billing are shared.
Use POST /v1/jobs when a tool has batch.supported in the catalog and you need to process multiple files asynchronously (up to the tool’s max_files). Create returns 202 with a job_id; poll GET /v1/jobs/:id, then download each item’s output. Sync POST /v1/execute remains the path for a single file. See /docs/api/jobs.
No. Background removal accepts image files and optional edge parameters; PDF text extraction accepts PDFs and returns extracted text. Always use the tool reference for the current schema. Batch-enabled tools also expose batch.max_files and max_job_bytes on the catalog.
Create a named key in the developer dashboard. The plaintext secret is shown once. ToolGrid stores only a hash. Revoke keys when rotating. Never embed keys in browser JavaScript or public repos.
Yes. The TOOLGRID API GATEWAY plan ($19.99/mo) unlocks /v1 access and grants monthly API credits. It is separate from Business VIP. Create keys and buy top-up packages only while the subscription window is active.
Your API credit balance is kept forever — there is no cash refund and no clawback on cancel. New /v1 calls are blocked after your paid period ends. Failed executions still refund reserved credits to your wallet while you have access.
Subscribers get a monthly grant with the TOOLGRID API GATEWAY plan. You can also buy prepaid top-up packages from the developer dashboard. Checkout uses the existing payment gateways; credits appear after the webhook confirms fulfillment. Balance is never updated from a URL parameter alone. Eligible purchases can earn affiliate commissions.
Pay as you go: each enabled tool has a credit price and USD equivalent in the live registry. Prices are snapshotted when a request reserves credits. Successful billable executions settle the reservation; eligible failures refund it. Batch jobs soft-check N × unit credits on create, then reserve/settle per item as the worker processes each file.
Auth, validation, rate-limit, and unsupported-tool errors never reserve credits. After a reservation, eligible execution failures refund the hold. Errors return a stable code, message, and request_id. For jobs, individual items can fail while others succeed (job status partial).
Every execute and job-create request requires an Idempotency-Key. Replaying the same key with the same payload returns the stored response (or the same job) without a second charge. A different payload with the same key returns a conflict.
The TOOLGRID API GATEWAY dashboard shows API credit balance, purchase history, the credit ledger, and usage records with filters, request IDs, latency, and billing status. Try tools interactively in the /tg-sandbox testing console (Single or Batch mode).
No. Keys must stay on your server (or a trusted backend). Client-side bundles would expose the secret. Use a server-side proxy for browser apps.
Only registered, enabled tools appear in the public catalog and work on /v1/execute (and /v1/jobs when batch.supported) today. The registry is designed so new tools can join the same auth, execute, jobs, and billing model without a separate integration stack.
